TRAVELLING NORTH- 

Leave junction 36 of the M6 motorway and head for Kendal/Lakes. Follow Barrow signs (A590). Three miles beyond Newby Bridge turn right (signed to Workington). After 10 miles you will reach Broughton-in-Furness. 3/4 of a mile beyond, turn right to Ulpha - just before the traffic lights that control traffic over the river Duddon Bridge. After 4 miles, turn left in Ulpha village, up the steep hill signed for Eskdale (Birker fell road). Follow this road for 7 miles and you will enter Eskdale Green village. Just past the village store on the right, turn left down a private lane called ‘Randlehow’. The Orchards is 250 yards on the left.

TRAVELLING SOUTH-

From the A595, turn left just beyond Holmrook (at the Texaco garage). After 1.5 miles turn right (signed Eskdale Green). Follow the road for 1.5 miles, turn right and after 0.75 miles you will enter Eskdale Green village. Just before the village store on the left, turn right down a private lane called ‘Randlehow’, the Orchards is 250 yards on the left.

NOTE: if the weather is wintry and you are travelling from the South, we advise you to follow the A595 North until you get to the Texaco garage just before Holmrook, where you turn right. From here follow the ‘Travelling South’ directions. Don't try going over any of the passes or Fell roads!
